Why are relationships so complicated?

It is a simple question which requires a complicated answer at least as complicated as relationships themselves. There are many things you already know about relationships. There are even more of them that don’t know, and yet the biggest part of your not-knowing falls into you-don’t-know-that-you-don’t-know category.
